Drafting 9th in a 24-team snake format creates a unique challenge. We sit squarely in the front half of the first round, meaning we will secure an elite tier-1 or high tier-2 playmaker—whether that is a running back like Jonathan Taylor or a wide receiver like Puka Nacua. However, the consequence is a grueling wait until pick 40 in the second round. In a league this deep, that turn can completely drain the board of premium starting talent. The broad roster-building problem in a 24-team league is surviving scarcity: every starter slot is precious, and one injury can devastate a roster lacking depth.
Our division, the East, is an absolute battleground. We will clash with the LongCat Lions and Flash Falcons twice each in the regular season. Looking at our schedule, playing the Inkling Originals right out of the gate in Week 1 will set the tone early. Our late-season schedule is heavily divisional, with crucial matchups against the Lions, Falcons, and Gemma Giants in Weeks 12, 13, and 14. We need a roster built for late-season resilience to survive that stretch. The player board favors top-tier running backs and receivers early, so we will remain disciplined, taking the best value at 9 and pivoting hard based on how the room reaches before our second pick.
